A Christmas Story is a 1983 American Christmas comedy film based on the short stories and semi-fictional anecdotes of author and raconteur Jean Shepherd, including material from his books In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, and Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories. It was directed by Bob Clark. It's also a favorite for the National Rifle Association because they'd love the idea of 8-year-old Ralphie Parker fighting for a BB gun that he obsessively wants for Christmas. The NRA may love it even more so that TBS obsess on playing this movie for 24 hours straight from 8 PM on Christmas Eve to Christmas Day in a marathon which can get old after a while. Plus, it should be more of a movie for mature teenagers and adults as it's dangerous for any kid to have a gun and Ralphie sure would have a lot to learn about guns. Not really much of a family movie.
