This book is a very good United States Civics book

America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction is a 2004 non-fiction book written by Jon Stewart and the writers of the time of The Daily Show. It is a book satirizing United States politics and worldview. it is meant to be a parody of a US Civics textbook which features ridiculous discussion questions, classroom activities, quizzes, and much entertaining text and images. Liberal Stewart makes many funny jokes throughout the book.

It is not a good book for actual facts about US Politics, but it is very interesting and humorous. Chapters describe Democracy Before America to a look at the future. Also included is a chapter exaggerating American stereotypes of the rest of the world. Following it was Stephen Colbert's I Am America (And So Can You!). In 2006, Professor Stanley Schultz fact-checked the book and the book with his annotations is the Teacher's Edition in paperback. In 2010, The Daily Show followed it with Earth (The Book): A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race.
