Bahrain is a small island country in the Middle East with a population of roughly 1.3 Million. Bahrain is in the Persian Gulf close to Saudi Arabia. Qatar is located to the east, and Saudi Arabia is to the south. It is an exporter of oil. Bahrain is an absolute Monarchy and there are complaints that the Sunni king discriminates against the Shia majority. Protests that were part of the Arab Spring occurred there. Free expression and Human rights appear to be improving.
