Calvin Coolidge was the thirtieth President of the United States. He was a conservative. He earned the nickname "Silent Cal" because he never said anything. He was a big proponent of "laissez-faire" capitalism, because its an economic system in which the President does not interfere. He was big on small-government, basically because he was lazy and wanted his job to be as easy as possible. His predecessor, Warren G. Harding messed up worse than he did. Coolidge started the depression although Hoover made it worse!
On the bright side, he was socially liberal, considering that he signed into law legislation that gave Native Americans citizenship.
