Conservatives love football as a rule but hate the Bears because the current starting quarterback's name, Rex Grossman, is a bit too Jew-y for their liking.

The Chicago Bears began as the Decatur Staleys in 1920, founded by George S. Halas, for whom the NFC Championship trophy is named. His granddaughter Virginia McCaskey still owns the team today.

The Chicago Bears have nine NFL titles, which is second only to the (hated) Green Bay Packers--though only one of these occurred during the Super Bowl era, in 1986, when the Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46-10.
