In the 1980’s Margaret Thatcher was determined to break the Trade Unions and Author Scarhill. She destroyed the power base of Author Scarhill but wrecked the lives of any number of hard working miners and probably destroyed coal mines that could have been made profitable. This happened in Cornwall, in Wales, in Yorkshire and in any number of other places where there were coal mines. Cornwall was mainly tin mining.
