"The creation-evolution controversy" is a phrase often used by those not understanding science (be it news reporters or Creationists) to imply Creationism holds the same position Evolution does.

For anyone having common sense, this is not a "controversy" at all; a scientific theory supported by facts and evidence can't be threatened by an unfalsifiable religious argument.

Creationists often misrepresent science in an attempt to pretend evolution has been disproved.

Cretinists often quote-mine Charles Darwin, especially the eye bit, but just after he demonstrated how the eye could've formed. They also quote-mine him with geology but he was showing that there weren't many Transitional fossils in his time because of imperfection of the geological record. There are very many more Transitional fossils known today.
