Hermann Wilhelm Göring was the power-hungry second in command to Adolf Hitler. The titles he held were:

  • President of the Prussian Council of State
  • Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe
  • President of the Reichstag
  • Reichsstatthalter of Prussia
  • Reich Minister of Aviation
  • Reich Minister of Forestry
  • Reichsmarschall of the Greater German Reich
  • Defendant #1 at the Nuremberg Trials

Göring was responsible for most of Germany's military failures during World War II, especially losing the Battle of Britain and failing to provide support at Stalingrad. He got his just-desserts when he tried to be named Hitler's successor in April 1945 and was expelled from the party.
