Humans are us. Our scientific name is Homo Sapiens (Latin word for "wise man"). The first humans originated in the horn of Africa 200,000 years ago, and reached full mental capacity we're not sure when. Humans have a highly developed Brain and are capable of abstract reasoning, language, and problem solving. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees the hands for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of tools than any other living species on Earth. Other higher-level thought processes of humans, such as self-awareness, rationality, and sapience, are considered to be what defines and constitutes a "person".
We need each otherEdit
Humans are one of the most social living beings on Earth. We have evolved to living in groups and tribes, like our fellow primates (Chimpanzees, Gorillas, bonobo, and like our lower primates Monkeys, Lemurs..). We often rely on each other for comfort and support as we cannot easily live without each other. Even if we can physically live without the help of a other humans, we would most likely go insane without the company of other humans due to loneliness, stress, boredom, and fear of nobody protecting us. Humans need each other to survive. For example: if a bear is hungry or pissed off and it comes for you, you're obviously screwed and the bear will kill you with little force. But if that bear tried to attack many humans who are armed with spears and knives and know how to use them, the bear is screwed. This is why humans around the globe are grouped up in civilizations.
We look for explanationsEdit
Humans are noted for wanting to understand and influence their environment, tryking to explain the things around them through science, philosophy, mythology, and religion. This natural curiosity has led to the development of advanced tools and skills, which are passed down culturally. Humans are the only living species known to build fires and cook their food, as well as the only known species to clothe themselves and create and use numerous other technologies and arts. The study of humans is the scientific discipline of anthropology.
As said in Charles Darwin's Origin of species, humans, like every other living being had its evolutionary origins from very small beginnings. Humans weren't always the way we are, see How life evolved on Earth.
- Turns out we did come from monkeys This video claims scientifically that apes are a type of monkey.
