You improved Liberapedia a great deal while you were here. The wiki is less active now, that's not surprising as the American presidential election and congress elections are over and Americans are less political. I'm working here building up the wiki for future elections in the UK, the USA and elsewhere.
User:Butterfly22 has made allegations against Shane Barlowski which look to me like harassment. She's started uploading pictures which she claims prove Barlowski did something wrong. To me what I've seen look like pictures of writing that Barlowski or anyone else might have written. Can you make sense of this?
I think this place (that is, Liberapedia) is not for discussions about the wiki's (ex-)editors, especially when the subject doesn't relate to this wiki.
I don't know if Shane is, indeed, such a person as Butterfly22 describes it or not, but anyway, there's no place on this wiki for harassment.
Also, I think we should keep an eye on User:Keeper of the dragons, as that user's profile is pretty close to Butterfly's ( female, California, exposing fake people ). Unlike Butterfly, though, this user at least makes productive edits to the main wiki.
I agree entirely with you, thanks. I'm giving Butterfly22 her final warning. The next time she harasses Shane she gets blocked. I will watch Keeper of the dragons as I agree they look similar. It's good we're in agreement how to deal with this.
At least from now on we won't have to worry so much about what RW writes about us. Yesterday I put hours of work in making the articles on Transhumanism and Cryonics more scientific. I also put hours into making the articles on sea and Liechtenstein less stubby together with improving links to those articles. All that work was certainly worth while but I'm pleased from now on I can relax and won't be goaded into extra work from RW.
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest problem with Liberapedia's development is that the wiki seriously lacks editors. According to these statistics, only 9 editors were active during the last month, with you making significantly more editors than anyone else.
That is understandable, as we didn't promote ourselves in any way (and doing so right now is more likely to do harm rather than good). I think the best thing to do right now would be to work on fixing stub articles and the most glaring errors (such as outdated articles and grammatical/punctuation mistakes), so that this wiki would look better to the visitor's eye.
I’m sure you’ve noticed how much of what I write is aimed at less educated readers. I’m very keen to reach bright high school kids. Those kids aren’t fully educated intellectuals yet but 10, 20, 30, 40 years from now many of them will be very well educated in positions of influence and responsibility. Reaching bright high school kids can change things for the future.
Thanks for dealing with a really unpleasant vandal. I couldn't tell you earlier because a computer glitch prevented me posting on message walls. I'm not sure if the problem was with my computer or with Wikia.
The logo is definitely an improvement, to Americans it looks blue and liberal, I don't think blue water suggests conservatives to Europeans. I'll consider whether a more greyish blue would be better but reaching Americans is important.
