American soldiers invading Germany during the later stages of World War II found large amounts of gold near Berlin and more was found round Lake Walchensee in Bavaria but much remained undiscovered. There is evidence that Swiss stole some of the gold.
Some may be in a bunker in Leinawald Forest near Leipzig in Germany. It is suspected that slave workers were forced to help the Nazis prepare the bunker because human remains, believed to be the remains of slave workers were found in the area. Yet more gold may be hidden at the bottom of lakes in Germany and Austria, forged British money has been found in Lake Toplitz in Austria but no gold.
