Peanuts can be a great value healthy food. They're legumes, related to Peas beans lentils. Peanuts are (at least in the UK) cheaper than other nuts but also higher in protein. peanuts can be eaten raw or added to stir fries. Peanuts work in Vegetarian stir fries or stir fries that include meat.

If you're poor it's worth remembering that peanuts, milk and other cheap, high protein foods can help keep you healthy without overspending. You don't need foods rich people eat like beefsteak to keep fit. Perhaps you're a student, you want to buy all the textbooks your lecturers recommend but don't like getting into debt. Perhaps you're saving for a mortgage, struggling to repay a mortgage. Whatever the reason if you need to live economically peanuts are worth remembering. [1]

Even better off people sometimes like the taste and enjoy eating peanuts.
