Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (English: The United Socialist Party of Venezuela), often abbreviated to PSUV, is the current ruling political party of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. It is responsible for the major economic and political reforms in the country in recent years.
The party has come under scrutiny from many nations such as the United States and others, due to its Democratic Socialist agenda and criticisms of U.S. foreign policy. Along with the fact that anything remotely left-wing despises the United States as default, with the exception of the UK's Labour Party.
The PSUV was formed when Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez united his 5th Republic Movement party with other parties that supported Chavez's so called "Bolivarian Revolution".
