Wolf PAC is a group founded by Cenk Uygur in October 2011! It wants to get money out of US politics by pushing for a Constitutional Amendment to stop corporate interference in politics from having any more significance than a person's interference in politics.

Why an amendment?Edit

They believe that simple legislation won't last, so they must take their case to the highest law in America, the Constitution!

Also, they want 34 states to sign onto it and force an Amendment past Congress, because they believe that Congress is too corrupt to get on with it themselves.

The textEdit

There is not an official "Amendment-style" text yet, but it goes like this, in rough terms:

"Corporations are not people. They have none of the Constitutional rights of human beings. Corporations are not allowed to give money to any politician, directly or indirectly. No politician can raise over $100 from any person or entity. All elections must be publicly financed."

The prosEdit

Getting money out of politics will help restore representative democracy in the US because no politician will be ahead of any other just because they have more corporate money. Only sincere fans' money is allowed! Also, politicians will not owe anyone except their supporters/voters when they get in office, so they have a higher chance of getting the voters' wishes done. Also, no more lobbying will happen, becuase the wish of the people is distorted when industries give large sums to Congress to block popular presidential bills for their own gain.

The consEdit

They may need to rewrite some of the proposal because it looks to be removing Corporations' right almost completely in its current form! Constitutional rights like permission before being searched, and a fair trial, will mean that a liberal company could be legally beat down and shut down by a conservative government, without needing to give reason, if they so chose. Also, "politicians" don't include EVERYONE running, Donald Trump isn't a politician, so someone like that may find a loophole in this thing, and end up legally taking big money!
