Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It is ruled by dictator Robert Mugabe There is evidence that elections there were rigged in Mugabe's favour and the west has economic sanctions in place against Mugabe. [2] Zimbabwe borders South Africa to the south, Mozambique to the east, Botswana to the west, and Zambia to the north.

Many of the people are Bantu and Shona. Zimbabwe was previously named Rhodesia and, while wealthier and not suffering from famine, also under an apartheid government. The transition to majority rule did not go as smoothly in Zimbabwe as it did in South Africa as the lack of a figure like Nelson Mandela resulted in the country falling under another racist dictatorship, resulting in its unfortunate state today. In the case that Zimbabwe ever regains stability, it has the potential to become a major economy because of its abundant natural wealth and fertility. [1]
